HJR 4-KENAI/KASILOF SUBSISTENCE PRIORITY 7:09:47 PM CHAIR COGHILL announced that the only order of business would be HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 4, Requesting the Federal Subsistence Board to reconsider its decision regarding the subsistence fishery priority given to Ninilchik residents. 7:10:02 PM CONRAD JACKSON, Staff to Representative Kurt Olson, Alaska State Legislature, speaking on behalf of Representative Olson, sponsor, explained that Version 25-LS0201\L, Kane, 4/18/07, changes the term "reconsider" to "rescind" on page 1, line 1, and on page 2, line 2. He informed the committee that the federal subsistence board will meet soon and on its agenda is the determination to which HJR 4 speaks. Although the hope is that the federal subsistence board will rule in the state's favor, such a ruling isn't expected. 7:11:11 PM REPRESENTATIVE HARRIS moved to adopt Version 25-LS0201\L, Kane, 4/18/07, as the working document. There being no objection, Version L was before the committee. 7:11:33 PM REPRESENTATIVE SAMUELS moved to report CSHJR 4, Version 25- LS0201\L, Kane, 4/18/07, out of committee with individual recommendations and the accompanying fiscal notes. There being no objection, CSHJR 4(RLS) was reported from the House Rules Standing Committee.
